Previously reviewing a Dr. Brandt product, I was aware of the scientific identity of the brand. It remains evident with this product in the presentation of the packaging. Two serums – AM and PM – are packaged in a dual chamber tube, so the application is unique and handy. I had slight anticipation for this scientifically advanced product. They use a large variety of complex ingredients, which can sometimes be viewed as a negative. However, I tried it nonetheless.

Each serum aims to provide a different function. On first application, AM provided the expected tingling sensation that plumping often brings. Considering the product as a primer, I found it highly effective. My chapped lips appeared softer and made it easier to apply a smooth layer of lipstick. A short while into the day a friend pointed out that my lips were looking slightly fuller. This wasn’t a factor I noticed myself but I took this as confirmation of an effective product. The results aren’t as obvious as if you have turned to actual needles but the AM does its job in refinement.

The PM serum has the aim of rejuvenating and soothing your lips overnight, with more natural and calming ingredients. The effects of this serum I wasn’t able to see as well. On application, the formula felt nice but I didn’t see much of a difference in the quality of my lips in the morning. The result has me torn on the product, as my high expectations after using the AM were not equally met by the PM.
