SS17 Margiela: The other-life aquatic

Creative Director John Galliano definitely used beauty to help narrate Maison Margiela’s spring collection trajectory, showing a graduation of otherworldly, watery beings.

Starting off with a minimal slate of headwear caps and shimmery cheekbones accompanying clean line tailored jackets and dresses.

Beauty looks got consistently more dramatic to pair with bolder clothing choices like a scuba life-vest top or futuristic mermaid plastic skirt – via scuba caps, glassy blue lips and patent head ties, ornamented spear lips and flecked eye stripes like the most exotic fish in the sea.
