VANESSA SEWARD: her beauty favorites

Vanessa Seward loves makeup. In her shows she wants the girls to look glamorous and beautiful.

“Some designers like it conceptual; I just want the glamour. Karim Rahman for my sponsor MAC cosmetics, was the makeup artist for my two shows, and on both occasions I asked him to do my makeup as well.

The result was amazing. A good makeup artist can transform you. Suddenly, you look good in every picture. You feel powerful, and confident. And that's something I want to attain with my clothes as well."

VANESSA FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS:

"I would love to work on beauty for my own brand. It's a universe I can completely relate to. Makeup is basically an extension of what I do. I design clothes because they can give a woman confidence, and makeup can do that too."

FOUNDATION: " Pressed powder Shu Uemura. What I like about it is that it has a brush. The brush thing is great. Usually foundation comes with little sponges, and they get dirty. This is much better."

EYES: “My mascara is from Laura Mercier and it’s essential; I can't live without it, my eyebrow brush is by (again) Shu Uemura."

LIPS: "I use this tinted, sheer lipstick from Sisley. For evening, I might wear a red lipstick, either from Chanel or L'Oréal."

HAIR: "I'm into Leonor Greyl, I go to their salon in Paris. They have a range of products which I use a lot, particularly their hair oil. And I also like the shampoos."

PERFUME : "I love Shalimar from Guerlain, and also their Eau de Cologne Imperial. I like Musk Ravageur from Frederic Malle. Which one I choose depends on my mood. Shalimar when I want to feel like a woman, and Eau de Cologne for a working day."
