YEARNINGS Creative Direction: Tim Christiani / Photography: Omri Roden / Visual Direction: Ninamounah Langestraat / Production: Emma Lee Smit / Muse: Pilar Madimin

In YEARNINGS Tim Christiani mirrors the allure of his own youthful iconography. Idolizing himself by dressing up in his sister’s pink bathing suit and mixing them with sports references, Tim recaptures these “iconic” and recognizable attires, while playing with his twisted sense of masculinity.

Tim Christian’s style is crafted as an idyllic terrarium for memories to converge that interlace with a sense of longing. His unique circular structures, inspired by leaves, elegantly blend with sportswear elements, accentuated by subtle nods to the animal kingdom, such as the use of a taxidermy horsetail. Tim reimagines the traditional role of fur, which was once seen as a symbol of social prestige. This reimagining hints at his own unique interpretation of vulnerability. Within the context of cut-out motifs that subtly suggest sensuality, every piece continues to be a contemplation of the familiar, as Tim searches for the ideal pink bathing suit.
